Christ
Churchyard became a place of burial sometime in the middle of the
eighteenth century. Our oldest (readable) grave marker dates to the
late 1700s (predating the church building that was erected in 1827), but there are many unmarked graves in the old
sections. The churchyard was once in two parts; each having
its own side. However, as the years have passed it has grown
together. The iron gate (one of the two, signifying separate
entrances to the two yards) now stand alone.
It dates back to the early 1800s.
The "rock wall" has long gone away.

The names of many prominent families of the area can be read on the
stones which now stand as our "silent congregation" - they are our
saints and the witnesses that have gone on before us. Barber,
Kesler, Owens, Plummer, Wilhelm, Brown, Thompson, etc... – names of
community leaders spanning almost three centuries. There are several
priests, doctors, teachers, many children, housewives, farmers,
soldiers, all sorts and conditions of folk; some rich in things,
many rich in spirit, known and unknown.
