Organized by the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel (SPG) in 1754, we are members of the Body of Christ, the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, the Worldwide Anglican Communion, and the Episcopal Church in the USA.

Since 1821 we have been an established parish that is now part of the Southern Region in Charlotte Convocation of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina.

The "diocese" is a geographical jurisdiction (like a synod or presbytery) and it is the fundamental unit of structure of the Episcopal Church.
