Together we serve...

Christ Church has a strong history of outreach to the community, dating from its very first days. Not only do parishioners raise funds that help at home and abroad, they roll up their sleeves and actively collect, cook, and construct to help those in their own community.

Weekly Food Collection – Canned and non-perishable packaged food is collected every Sunday as part of the offering.  This food is taken weekly to the Rowan Helping Ministries - West Food Bank to provide food for the needy in Rowan County.

Habitat for Humanity – Episcopal parishes have a long relationship with Habitat for Humanity.  Several Christ Church parishioners have assisted in funding and building habitat houses over the years.

Mary C. White Education Fund – This fund provides grants or loans to assist local students further their education.

Outreach Projects – Christ Church's outreach efforts include Thompson Children’s Home, United Thank Offering (U.T.O.), Episcopal Relief & Development (ERD), Church Periodical Club (CPC), Penick Village.  Additionally, several Christ Church groups raise money through various barbeques, suppers, and food sales for different outreach projects.

Together we grow...

Outreach is not necessarily confined to those who are in need of the world’s goods. Christ Church is also committed to spiritual outreach by being a welcoming community for those seeking a new way to express their faith.

New Member Ministry – Our Parish Life committee is dedicated to providing hospitality to "new-comers" by welcoming, informing, and incorporating new members into life at Christ Church.  Members make phone calls to welcome visitors, serve as shepherds to smooth the way for visitors and newcomers so they can be welcomed by the community at large.
